Getting Ready
"Nishikizakura" and small bird design small plates - Item Code: C000210
There are contemporary colored Nabeshima small plates. There is no actual variety of cherry blossom called “Nishikizakura,” but the name “Nishikizakura” is given to cherry blossom trees that are depicted as a set of leaves, flowers, and buds, as shown in this pattern. The leaves and buds look like Kawazu-zakura. All of these cherry blossoms are designed so that only three of the five total petals are depicted and the eye is drawn to the leaves and the buds that will bloom in the future. And a cute little bird is painted with it as an accent. This bird is probably a white-eye. Kawazu-zakura is a beautiful, dark pink flower that blooms in early spring.
