Blue and white porcelain depicting the hidden Christian village (reproduction) - Item Code: C000004
¥15,000(tax not included)
This is the same pattern as Nabeshima-style plates manufactured in the late Edo period . It depicts a view captured by a telescope from the sea. The pattern around the dish is of waves. In the center is a village. The tower-like building at the top of plate is a church. At that time, the Christian faith was banned by the government in Japan. Therefore, Christians lived with God in seclusion deep in the mountains.
